The Secret World - Not so secret anymore.

The Secret World Beta started on time and basically without a hitch. There was a point at the start where too many users were trying to log in at the same time, which caused a few to retry login a few times. But other than that it wasn't stressful at all, unlike some recent Betas that I won't mention.

May 7, 2012 - Funcom has release the Beta Client for The Secret World. So if you pre-ordered you can find your client download on your TSW account page. The Weekend Beta Event starts on Friday May 11, 2012 at 2pm PST and lasts through Sunday May 13, 2012.

This weekend event has no NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) so {AB*} will be posting screenies and videos when possible. Be sure to check our forums on Friday May 11th for more information.

If you don't have access to The Secret World Beta please do not stress out, you still have options to get in to the Beta.

1. Go to The Secret World site and sign- up for the Beta

2. Pre Order online through Funcom directly, Online from Amazon or online/in-person from Gamestop. (Guaranteed Access)

3. Play The Secret War and gain enough points (650) to unlock Secret Agent rank and the Beta Access reward.

The Secret World - A glance at PvP

Main topic of this video is mainly PvP starting @ 5:20 or so.

According to this video found from PAX 2011 the PvP certainly looks interesting.

There are 3 small battlefields "El Dorado" "Stonehenge" and "Shambhala". The 3 factions will PvP against each other for control of the battleground, this control will reap bonuses to every member of that faction server wide. Those bonuses in regards to PvE/PvP have not been revealed as of yet.

There is also a persistent Warzone that consists of over 100 players that battle against each other for control of any of the 4 control points within the Warzone. Control of the zone reaps an even greater bonus than the smaller Battlefields to the controlling faction.

Also discussed in the following video is faction specific uniforms in PvP and how to distinguish a healer from a tank or dps. Remember that this video is from last years PAX and some things may have or may not have changed since then, but imo the PvP is going to be awesome.

The Secret World to launch June 19, 2012

Durham, USA – February 21^st, 2012 –Independent developer and publisher of online games, Funcom, today announced that the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game ‘The Secret World’ will launch on June 19^th, 2012.
